Podcast of Champions – Ranking top head coaches in the Pac-12 plus NCAA’s take on NIL collectives

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio trying to figure out what they can talk about while everyone patiently waits for the long awaited announcement of the new Pac-12 media rights deal. To help pass the time the guys bring in Dave Bartoo, co-founder of Matrix Analytical, to talk about where the head coaches in the Pac-12 are ranked according to his analytical data analysis. They have USC head coach Lincoln Riley as the No. 3 head coach in the country and tops in the Pac-12, but he’s on the same tier as two other Pac-12 head coaches. Bartoo goes over a few tiers of head coaches with Riley at the top and brand new head coaches (with no data) like Kenny Dillingham at the bottom.

They guys also talk about the new NCAA memo that addresses how colleges and their respective collectives should be handling Name, Image and Likeness for student athletes. Will this memo have any teeth and scare off some of the more aggressive collectives out there? Probably not, but it should be fun to see the NCAA try to put the toothpaste back in the tube.
